Background
The U-boat Molch, developed in the last years of the war from 1944 onwards, represented a significant innovation in German U-boat technology. Designed as a special submarine, it was intended for reconnaissance and special missions. Its compact design and advanced technology made it a remarkable example of German engineering. Although only a few examples were built, the newt bears witness to the technical developments of its time and offers a fascinating insight into maritime military history.
Molch es el nombre de una clase de submarinos alemanes en miniatura de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Las primeras unidades de este tipo comenzaron a entrar en servicio en 1944. La embarcación tipo Molch tenía 10 metros de largo, 1,8 metros de ancho y podía sumergirse hasta 60 metros. Estaba armado con dos torpedos, muy a menudo el G7e de 533 mm. Los barcos de la clase Molch se construyeron en el astillero AG Weser en Bremen de manera modular, lo que aceleró y redujo los costos de producción. Exteriormente, un solo barco de este tipo parecía un torpedo alargado y ensanchado, al que se adjuntaba un quiosco en miniatura en la popa. La tripulación estaba formada por una sola persona.
